We're Continuity Dance Company!
We were founded in September 2021 and are just two years old. Although we're pretty young, we've been years in the making and it's incredible to see something that was once a dream become a reality. Our founder Emily, wanted to set up Continuity after seeing graduates struggle to continue dancing after university. We started with just 11 original dancers and have grown to a company of 42 in just two years, welcoming in a variety of university grads with different careers. We compete, perform and showcase all around the country from Birmingham to Winchester, Norwich to London and so many more. We absolutely love our weekends away together and enjoy spending our days dancing and socialising.
Next year we are about to double in size again as we take on over 50 new company members and open two new teams. We were over the moon to be expanding and have had 102 sign ups we had to our auditions and an incredible amount of interest. We'll be attending more competitions, having fun at Nationals in Blackpool again and preparing some very special pieces with our new choreographers in the year ahead. We can't wait to go from strength to strength with our existing and new company members and see what the 2023/24 season has in store for us.
Meet the Founder
Hi everyone, I'm Emily, the founder and owner of Continuity Dance Company. I set up Continuity with a mission: to keep people dancing after university and to provide a dance community for university graduates and young professionals. Getting thrown out into the world of work after having the safety and comfort of university for 3 years can be pretty daunting. You're still trying to work out who you are, set up a life and it can make you feel very lost. Continuity provides a place of belonging where alumni students can come together with like-minded peers to share their love of dance. It's fantastic to see members continue to develop their incredible talents beyond the walls of university and have a place to train, compete and perform in their favourite styles.
